More than three decades ago, Tommy Barnett came to pastor Westside Assembly of God in Davenport, Iowa, when it was running only 76 people in attendance. In just a few years, the church grew to more than 4,000 members, becoming the fastest-growing church in America.

Pastors from all around the world began inquiring how this dramatic growth had occurred. Pastor Barnett and his staff found themselves regularly sharing with visiting leaders how the accelerated church growth was taking place. It was then that he realized it would be more effective and inspirational to train many at once. His desire to share his methods and train others became what is now one of the largest leadership training conferences in America.

These efforts to provide relevant and effective principles to leaders for church growth and community outreach -- practiced daily at Phoenix First Assembly, the Dream Centers, and the more than 275 affiliated ministries -- have become the cornerstone of the Pastors and Leaders School. In the last 30 years, more than 200,000 leaders from churches around the globe have attended, and each year churches and ministries are transformed through the influence and inspiration of this conference.

Thousands will again attend this February for the practical how-to approach to ministry, and that is the distinction of the Pastors and Leaders School.  Time and time again, those who attend comment on the practicality of this conference, and, while it is extremely inspirational, it also outlines the philosophies, concepts and practices that anyone can take back to their local church and implement almost immediately.
